PRESENTATION

Plants have been used by man since ancient times for various purposes, including as a therapeutic resource, one of the main forms of medicine the use of natural products in developing countries.
Mexico ranks 4th in biodiversity and the use of medicinal plants is a tradition that has been maintained since pre-Hispanic cultures. In this sense, the use of medicinal plants is the healing system with deeper anthropological roots, as its use has been the most widespread therapeutic technique among indigenous groups. In recent years, interest in the study of medicinal plants has increased given the existence of methods and increasingly sophisticated technologies that have allowed us to identify and evaluate different plant products.
Over the last decades this has shown the structure of some of the compounds of plant origin and their application in Chronic degenerative diseases and those that affect the immune and nervous systems among others. .
These topics will be addressed by leading researchers in this field in order to inform students, faculty and interested in the area of basic and applied research related to medicinal plants in Health Sciences.
The Academic Body of Neuroscience and Cell Morphophysiology UDG-CA-611 makes a cordial invitation to lecture "RECENT ADVANCES IN MEDICINAL PLANTS RESEARCH I", which will be presented in the framework of the International Summer University 2013, as an integral part of the scientific and cultural development of the Centro Universitario de los Lagos, Earth Sciences and Life Department and academic activities of updating and dissemination of science and culture of this center.
The event will be held from 17 to 19 June 2013 at the premises of Edificio de Investigación y Tutorías del Centro Universitario de los Lagos Ubicado en calle Paseo de la Montaña S/N entre Framboyanes y Paseo de las Acacias Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco.
