PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

The call is open for psychologists, humanists, historians, anthropologists, educators, sociologists, philosophers, and other professionals interested in the human sciences that search to exchange experiences and acquire knowledge that takes them to the reflection and to widen their current perspectives over the challenges and advances of the contemporary society in the framework of the general theme proposed.

Modalities of Participation

Talks: Individual oral presentation in themed tables. The speaker will have 15 minutes for his/her presentation. Each table will count with a total length of 1.30 hours for 4 presentations and the remaining time for the presentation of the speakers and the intervention of the public.

The speakers will have to include the study program, questions and objectives, the employed methodology and a discussion of the results as well as the references of the used sources.

The professional experiences will have to contain the description of the type of intervention, emphasize the context, the individuals implied, as well as the processes, the theoretical perspective used and the results obtained.

The summaries must have an extension of minimum 300 words, and maximum of 500, they will be sent in Microsoft Word, to the following addresses: : mquevedo@lagos.udg.mx; departamento.humanidadesyartes@lagos.udg.mxThe talks can be from one or various authors (maximum 3 authors), with an extension of 12 to 20 sheets maximum, including the notes and the bibliographical references according to the recommendations of the APA, in Microsoft Word format, typography Arial 12, space of 1.5 points, The title of the talk, the authors and the institutions will be included centered with the same format. The deadline to send the summary will be on Friday, May 16th, 2014. The full work for the inclusion in the Memories(published with ISBN) must be delivered at the latest on Monday, August 18th 2014.

Poster: This presentation is of visual nature, in form of poster (80cm horizontal per 100cm vertical); during the period of time of the presentation, the author or authors will have to be available to answer questions and to discuss his/her/their work with the interested audience. As a part of the exposition, it’s suggested to prepare printed material (a sheet or a brochure) with the most relevant information of the work to distribute it to the audience.

For this modality, besides of the summary, authors will have to send the poster design with a free distribution of the information that contains the following elements: introduction, objective of the investigation, method, results, discussion and conclusions, besides of the information of the investigator or investigators, full name(s), and the name of the institution. In this modality, the author(s) will be able to present the results of the Professional Practices.

Symposium: In the case of presentinga proposal in this modality, it must be done in a team of maximum four or five members, taking in count that each member will have a 15 minutes maximum for his/her presentation. They will have to annex a general summary and a brief theme thereof (200-300 words) and the summaries of each of the works (700-1000 words). The maximum length of the symposium will be of 1 hour 30 minutes.

Essay: We will accept documents that briefly analyze, interpret and evaluate a subject. This modality will be revised according to 3 major criteria; relevant content and well documented, appropriate and well organized arguments as well as the correct idiomatic use of the language. If the proposal is accepted, each speaker will have a maximum of 15 minutes for its presentation.

For the presentation of a work in this modality, you must send the complete text. The extension is of 3 sheets minimum and maximum 5 sheets maximum. Besides you will have to include the information of the author (full name and name of the institution).

Workshop: The workshops have an objective which is to train the participants in the use or application of specific strategies of investigation or intervention. We’re emphasizing in the convenience of orienting the activities to an active participation of the attendees. The length of the workshop will be of 3 to 4 hours average.

THE REGISTRATION FEE IS MP$500.00 (Five hundred Mexican Pesos).

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUMMARY

It is important that all the summaries include an introduction (justification of the work), method, result and conclusions. It is important to follow the following order:

Title (no more than 15 words). Principal Author (s): Last name, and name (s) in this order. Co-author (s) Last name, name(s) in this order. Do not use initials in the name or last name, the certificates will appear with the name of the authors as they appear in the proposals.

Institutional Ascription (s) Full name of the Institution (s) where the author (s) and the co-author (s) proceed (s). Descriptors: five keywords that classify their work. General Information: Location data of the speaker(s): full name, academic degree, telephone number, e-mail. Format of presentation proposed: oral or poster. Modality: It varies according to the type of work to be presented or exposed.
